Carl is the head of the UCD Laboratory of Plant Cell and Molecular Biology and the Metabolomics Technology Platform in the UCD Earth Institute. He is an Associate Editor of BMC Plant Biology and Academic Editor of PLOS One, and reviewer for over 23 internationally peer-reviewed journals. Research interests include abiotic stress responses in plants and crops and the use of metabolomics and lipidomics approaches for understanding crop responses to stress.
